In an attempt to give boost to the data growth, Aircel has launched new unified data tariffs for its customers across the country. The company said that it is the first operator to offer2G and 3G services in the same pack.
Seshadri R, Head of Operations, Rest of Tamil Nadu, Aircel, said that company will also launch 1 GB of internet access (2G/3G) for Rs 128 per month and 7 days unlimited internet pack at Rs 29, PIan 128, priced at Rs 128, offers its 2G and 3G customers 1 GB data with a validity of 30 days, which is aimed at those who use their data for downloading music, playing HD games, mobile applications, live streaming of videos and other high data usage content.
The Rs 29 plan offers unlimited 2G/3G data with a validity of 7 days and offers great value to the customer as the unlimited data can be used over a week at a very low price.
Aircel's regional manager north Anil Gupta said, "Our new unified data tariffs, will enable us to disrupt the data market and increase mobile internet penetration. According to a recent study, mobile internet users are set to grow 4-5 times by 2020, and one of the drivers for the data proliferation are innovative data plans by the operators. Therefore, we firmly believe that the launch of our new data tariffs will trigger an explosion of data consumption in the industry."
Last month, Aircel, one of India’s leading telecom players, had joined hands with Micromax, India’s leading handset manufacturer, to drive data growth in the country.
The partnership is aimed at getting 4-5 Lakh device users per month. Under this new partnership, Aircel and Micromax will share their cannel and retail networks, sales resources and run an integrated device sales activation program. |
