British Council has partnered with Applied Mobile Labs (erstwhile Voicetap technologies) to bring British Council certified English learning to the masses in India.
English on Mobile was relaunched recently as part of British Council’s Digital learning initiative for India, and forms a key pillar to reach the masses.
English on Mobile” is a product that has till date been used by close to 3000 people and has now been validated by British Council. The product is available for the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels of English speakers and allows people to learn spoken English over just voice and SMS – from any phone, anywhere in India.
Martin Davidson, CEO – British council said, “ We believe that mLearning is a great way of reaching the Indian masses in tier 2 and tier 3 towns, and we are happy to have partnered with an innovative company such as Applied Mobile Labs to bring forth this unique solution that has the potential of really bridging the English language gap”.
The product allows users to practise English, interact with experts, give assessments. Anyone who completes the advanced module of the course will get an official certificate directly from British Council.
