China's telecom equipment and smartphone maker ZTE Corp said on Thursday it is eyeing $800 million revenue in 2014 from the Indian market.
ZTE whose India revenue for the first 10 months of this year grew to more than $400 million, said that it plans to invest $10 million next year on marketing and branding initiatives and open more stores to boost its phone business.
While inaugurating its exclusive experience zone in Gurgaon ZTE’s CEO Xu Dejun said that the company will open more stores in other high potential cities as the there is still a large Indian audience which prefers to have a hands-on experience of the product before making any purchasing decision. This despite the fact the online purchasing is fast picking up in the country.
ZTE said that its focus ocus in 2014 will be on three key segments: 4G, high-end smartphones, and phones based on latest Android, Windows and Firefox platforms. ZTE India will also continue to focus on strengthening its 4G: TD-LTE and FDD-LTE, bearer and transmission network, FTTH, medium-sized Enterprise businesses and cloud computing in the next year.
ZTE which forayed in into India market 13 years ago has recently smartphones and data cards market. It also tied up with MTS in managed services area.
Apart from this, ZTE partnered with Bharti Airtel to plan, design, supply and deploy its 4G network in Kolkata. |
