After three days of aggressive bidding, the demand for the efficient 900 Mhz spectrum stabilized. The focus has shifted to the 1,800 Mhz band. As per reports, Assam, Gujarat, Bihar and Maharashtra circles are attracting high bids in 1,800 Mhz band spectrum.
At the end of day four, 28 rounds of bidding have been completed. Bids have been received in all 22 Service Areas in 1800 MHz band and in all 3 Service Areas in 900 MHz band. Thus, bidding has taken place in all the Service Areas in both bands.
The Auction of spectrum in the 1800 MHz and 900 MHz band that began on 3rd February 2014, continued today. It recommenced today morning at 9 A.M. and during the day seven rounds of bidding were completed.
Day four witnessed bids go up to Rs 21,935 crore for the three metros, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata in the 900 Mhz band, which is around 5% up from Wednesday's close. Delhi saw a huge 78% increase from the reserve price while Mumbai and Kolkata did not see any price increase on Thursday.
The closing bid price on Thursday stood at R52,700 crore, up 4% from Wednesday's closing amount.
