Karbonn and MediaTek on Wednesday announced a strategic partnership in smartphone business. This partnership integrates MediaTek’s ‘true’ octa-core & hexa-core processor based smartphone range into karbonn’s new portfolio. With this, Karbonn has introduced a new portfolio of smartphones including Titanium Hexa, Titanium Octane and Titanium Octane Plus. Also, Karbonn has become the first Indian brand to offer the ‘KitKat’ OS experience to the Indian consumers.

The recently launched MT6591 hexa-core processor by MediaTek has ushered in a new era of mobile computing with its premium Dual-Cluster/Dual-Active (DCDA) architecture that allows all 6-cores to run at full speed simultaneously. Personifying the re-imagined philosophy of MediaTek’s ‘Everyday Genius’, the chipset also exemplifies technology inclusion of the new global middle class markets. Clocked at speeds of up to 1.5Ghz, the chipset enables chromium browsing experience while running multiple, concurrent and independent applications.

Karbonn Titanium Hexa is priced at Rs.16990. Titanium Octane is priced at Rs.14490 and Titanium Octane Plus is priced at Rs.17990. The devices will be ready for shipping from the last week of April 2014.
