A new report reveals that Twitter is an online social networking site that enables users to send and read text messages, called "tweets". But out of 974 million users, 44% of registered users have never tweeted in their lifetime. The Twopcharts report says that 44% Twitter accounts have never sent a tweet, 30 percent of existing Twitter accounts has sent 10 or fewer tweets, and only 13 percent have tweeted more than 100 times.
But, according to the Wall Street Journal, Twopcharts is unable to track when a user logs in to an account and can only tell when an account tweets or retweets a message. Previously, the website came out with a report that said that only 40 percent of the 20 million new accounts on Twitter each month send at least one tweet during the first month that they signed up.
Their previous report said that only 40 percent of the 20 million new accounts on Twitter each month send at least one tweet during the first month that they signed up.
Twitter said it has 241 million monthly active users the last three months of 2013. Twitter defines a monthly active user as an account that logs in at least once a month.
A Twitter spokesman declined to comment, saying the company does not comment on third-party data.
