Ericsson appoints Amitabh Ray as its new head of global Services in India

Ericsson, on Tuesday announced Amitabh Ray as its Managing Director of Ericsson India Global Services Pvt. Ltd. He is currently acting Head of Strategy and Portfolio within Business Unit Global Services, Amitabh will continue to be a member of the Unit’s Leadership Team in his new role.

“With over 20 years’ experience in the ICT services industry, I am confident Amitabh will ensure that Ericsson’s services portfolio in India continues to deliver enormous value to our global customers”, said Magnus Mandersson, Head of Business Unit Global Services.

“People and competence are at the heart of Ericsson’s services business, which is why India, with its vast pool of ICT talent, is such a strategic location for us at Ericsson. I’m excited to be heading an organization that is at the forefront of leading the change in our industry as it converges across telecommunications, IT and media domains”, said Amitabh Ray.

Amitabh Ray joined Ericsson India Global Services in 2010 as Vice President and Head of Consulting and Systems Integration, Application Development and Maintenance and Project Management Office based in Kolkata. He has previously held senior positions across both IBM and PwC, where he led the development of global delivery centers, supporting customers across multiple domains and countries. Amitabh succeeds Mats Agervi in this role.

Ericsson India Global Services is part of Ericsson’s global delivery network which includes 4 Global Service Centers in India, Romania and China. Ericsson India Global Services is spread across five locations in India, Noida, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata and provides vendor and technology-agnostic support across Consulting and Systems Integration (CSI), Application Development and Maintenance (ADM), Managed Services (Operations, Engineering), Network Rollout and Software Delivery. It also hosts a state-of-the-art Research and Development hub, focusing on IP, Networking, Revenue Management and Modems.
