ZTE Corporation, on Thursday has reported a whopping sales worth 2.9 Billion RMB for the financial year 2013-14. Of the total sales 2.4 billion RMB resulted from network operations and the remaining from terminal business. ZTE India region accounts for around 3% of the company’s total revenue.
ZTE has been one of the preferred partners in India which has allowed the company to grow and expand in both networking and terminal business. ZTE has recently deployed LTE network in 4 new circles for Aircel. After Airtel, Aircel was the second telecom operator to offer 4G services in the country.
The terminal business saw decent growth after its entrant into the open handset market in 2013 which helped ZTE strengthen its position further. Additionally a strong and uninterrupted growth in the smartphones market has resulted in the company’s ability to maintain its position among top five largest handset manufacturers.
“FY 2013-14 has been a breakthrough year for us and we bagged major LTE deals with Airtel and Aircel. On the smartphone front we entered the open market and we have high hopes for the terminal division.
