Jolla Sailfish OS Smartphone launched in India, priced for Rs. 16,499. It will be available exclusively on Snapdeal.com and the first 90 units ordered on Snapdeal will receive a VIP box with Aloe, Poppy Red, and Keira Black colour back covers.

In February, Jolla had announced that it would be expanding the availability of its smartphone to Hong King, India, and Russia this year. The smartphone is also available to European users through company official stores and in July Jolla announced that it planned to enter the Indian markets with Sailfish OS smartphone. The company even sent out a tweet from its official account confirming the India launch with exclusive tie-up with Snapdeal.

Jolla, a company formed by a group of former Nokia employees. The Jolla smartphone has a distinct button-less features, and the Sailfish OS gesture-based user experience. Sailfish OS is based on Meego, a Linux-based mobile OS that was developed in partnership with Intel.

Jolla Sailfish OS Smartphone also has 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, a 2-megapixel front camera. Its inbuilt storage is 16GB which can be expandable through microSD card.

Jolla Sailfish OS Smartphone has 2100 mAh battery and also supports 4G Internet connections as well.

Jolla Sailfish OS Smartphone also has a feature of replaceable back cover.

Jolla Sailfish OS Smartphone is compatible with around 85,000 Android apps as well and the smartphone is available in Poppy Red, Keira Black and Aloe colour variants.
