Ericsson and China Mobile have jointly demonstrate the Ericsson Radio Dot System for TD-LTE during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona, aiming to together drive commercial uptake of TD-LTE small cell products.
"Ericsson Radio Dot System is easy to deploy and 100 percent integrated with current mobile networks. We look forward to deploying this innovative solution in buildings and offices in China, helping China Mobile overcome the various indoor coverage challenges and provide the best-in-class user experience for consumers," said Jan Signell, Head of Region North East Asia, Ericsson.
Indoor coverage has always been one of the bottlenecks for operators to meet the consumer needs of connectivity anytime, anywhere. Most of the current indoor solutions, built mainly for voice coverage, can no longer support the ongoing dramatic increase in data traffic.
China Mobile is building the world's largest TD-LTE network - delivering high-speed 4G and excellent app coverage. As the leading TD-LTE operator in the world, China Mobile has focused on network capacity and performance improvement indoors - meeting consumer demand of a consistent user experience irrespective of location.
The TD-LTE Radio Dot System demonstrated in the booth of China Mobile on site at MWC, is an innovative small cell solution by Ericsson. The visible component - the Radio Dot - is the most compact radio product, weighing only 300 grams, and offers flexible mounting. With its small size, large scalability, and compelling evolution path, this product caters to a broad range of requirements to deliver high-quality mobile broadband and voice services for indoor environments. |
