Samsung has launched its much awaited and highly anticipated flagship smartphones, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in India. Both devices comes in 32, 64 and 128GB variants option. The Samsung GALAXY S6 is priced at Rs. 49,900 for 32GB, Rs. 55,900 for 64GB and Rs. 61,900 for 128GB variants, while GALAXY S6 Edge is available at a price of Rs. 58,900 for 32GB, Rs.  64,900 for 64GB and Rs. 70,900 for 128GB. Galaxy S6 is 6.8 mm thin while the Galaxy S6 Edge is 7.0 mm thin. S6 weights 138gm whereas S6 Edge weights 132 gm.

Samsung Galaxy S6 features a 5.1 inch Quad HD Super AMOLOED display with 2560 X 1440 pixels resolution with 577 ppi. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge also features a 5.1 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED with dual edge display. Both devices use Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for screen protection and have a metal frame and a glass body on the front and back.

Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7 octa-core processor, which contain two quad-core processors clocked at 2.1 GHz and 1.5 GHz respectively with 3GB RAM. Both devices also use the 14 nanometer mobile processor with a 64-bit platform, new LPDDR4 memory system and UFS 2.0 flash memory which Samsung claims will provide higher performance and enhanced memory speed with lower power consumption.

Both devices run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop Operating System. Both devices sports a 16 megapixels rear camera and a 5 megapixels front camera. Galaxy S6 is powered backed by a 2550 mAh battery and the Galaxy S6 Edge comes with a 2600 mAh battery. Both devices support universal wireless charging. Samsung also claims that they support incredibly fast wired charging, i.e. around 1.5 times faster than the Galaxy S5 providing about 4 hours of usage after only 10 minutes of charging.

For connectivity Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Egde supports - 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), HT80 MIMO(2×2) 620Mbps, Bluetooth v4.1, USB 2.0, NFC and an IR Remote.

The GALAXY S6 and GALAXY S6 edge will be available in India starting from April 10, 2015 with 32/64/128 GB storage options available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz (GALAXY S6 only) and Green Emerald (GALAXY S6 edge only).
 
Samsung has also partnered with Bharti Airtel which will offer double data benefit to its GALAXY S6 & S6 Edge users on select prepaid and postpaid data pack/ plan subscription. While users on Airtel 4G will be able to enjoy double data benefit for a period of 6 months, 3G users can avail it for 2 months.

For Security, GALAXY S6 and GALAXY S6 edge are built on the upgraded Samsung KNOX, end-to-end secure mobile platform, offering defense-grade features for real-time protection from potential malicious attacks. Both of these new devices are also ready for immediate enterprise adoption, with market leading MDMs and KNOX enhancements enabled at launch to simplify and improve mobile device management. Additionally, the Find My Mobile feature secures lost devices and protects personal information through a number of services, including the all new remotely controlled “Reactivation lock.” With an enhanced touch-type fingerprint scanner, it also provides quick authentication and saves encrypted data in secure device storage.
