Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced the commercial launch of its high speed 4G services (also called LTE) in Sri City - the first planned integrated business city in the state of Andhra Pradesh. With this, Airtel has become the first telecom services provider to introduce superfast 4G speeds in Sri City and deliver a world-class internet experience for customers in the region – thus bringing the fast emerging business hub onto the Digital Superhighway.
Airtel 4G’s high speed wireless broadband experience will allow customers to enjoy uninterrupted HD video streaming, superfast uploading and downloading of movies, music and images. Airtel 4G is available to customers across a range of smart devices including mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles.
Commenting on the launch of 4G services at Sri City, Venkatesh Vijayraghavan, Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Bharti Airtel Ltd said, “I am delighted to announce the launch of 4G services in Sri City. The launch is in line with our philosophy of empowering millions by delivering high speed wireless broadband – a vision that we share with the Government of Andhra Pradesh. We recently launched “Project Leap”, our national network transformation drive, and look forward to augmenting our 4G presence to more regions like Sri City and deliver a compelling network experience for our customers now and in years to come”.
Airtel has led the 4G story in India, having launched India’s first 4G network in Kolkata in April 2012. Today customers of over 300 towns across India are enjoying the blazing speeds of 4G. To get started on Airtel 4G, customers can walk into their nearest Airtel Store and switch to a 4G SIM. For more information, visit www.airtel.in/4g. |
