Gearing up for fight for 4G, Vodafone and Airtel to focus on content

Even though Reliance Jio’s 4G services remain elusive to the consumers, it has certainly disturbed its prospective competitors. Both Vodafone and Airtel are now strengthening their content. Vodafone is exploring to tie up with content partners in India. This is in line with its Global practice. The company has already created a new vertical. for it.
 
Content becomes important for 4G service providers. Reliance Jio is expected to have accumulate a lot of content, even though no one knows even its officials do not know when its services will be launched.
 
The large operators started focusing on content when they launched 3G services. But now the requirement is very different as people expect betweer content due to high speed available with 4G.
 
“Both Airtel and Vodafone are now scouting for content in the market. They have realized that content is important for the success of 4G services,” said an industry observer.
 
In Europe and other markets, Telcos offer entertainment through companies like Netflix. This encourages consumers to use 4G services.
