Incumbent operators seem to be feeling the heat with new entry of new players. While the new players are yet to pose a challenge in the market as a competitor but these operators have certainly managed to pose a threat in retaining top level talent for the existing service providers.
Realty major Unitech which is gearing itself for foray into mobile services announced the appointment of former Chief Executive Officer of Aircel, Rohit Chandra as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Ashok Sud of Tata Teleservices has joined Unitech as President-Corporate Affairs.
In his new capacity, Chandra will be responsible for setting up and operating Unitech’s pan-India mobile services in addition to providing strategic direction and operational focus to Unitech’s foray.
Apart from Aircel, Rohit Chandra has been associated with companies like Philips, Forbes & Campbell, Wandel & Goltermann and Ericsson.
He joined Aircel in 2004 as CEO (North & East) to be subsequently promoted to the recently held designation of Executive Director.
