TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  03 Jun 2008

Airtel and security solutions provider, Verisign formally inked the deal agreed upon on January to set up Regional Internet Resolution Site (RIRS) in India allowing customers in India quick access to .com and .net websites.

As part of Verisign’s strategy to expand its infrastructure across 100 locations globally, the tie-up claims to reduce the response time for .com and .net websites.

The tie-up claims that it receives 130 million queries per day or 1500 queries per second with future forecast estimated to reach 450 million queries per day.

The tie-up will also provide security solutions to Indian corporates and aims to generate $100 million over a three year period. Further the tie-up aims to address security needs of BFSI sector initially.
