PM approves foreign participation in 3G auctioning say reports

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has reportedly approved DoT''s proposal to permit foreign players in participating in 3G spectrum auctioning. The Prime Minister is also reported to have given approval for charging operators for excess spectrum beyond 6.2Mhz.Such operators will have to pay 1 percent of their AGR.

 

A Raja had recently met the PM and the Finance Minister to build consensus over policy related decisions in wake of growing differences with regulator Trai.
