  Nokia announced its second quarter results for the year beating analysts forecasts even though the net profit was down 61 percent on a y-o-y basis. India however assumes significant position in the company''s business plans with the country's sales recording best ever figures for Nokia in June.
Nokia's Q2 sales reached Euro 13.2 bn ($21 bn), a growth of 4 percent while net profit stood at Euro 1.1 bn or 29 cents a share, from e2.83 bn, or 72 cents, a year earlier, a decline of 61 percent. Asia-Pacific sales increased by 42 percent.
CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo claimed that the company's market share increased to 40 percent during the quarter and further predicted that industry sales will rise by at least 10 percent in the current year. |
