GIPS comes up with VoIP application on iPhone
TT Bureau |  |  12 Aug 2008

Global IP Solutions (GIPS), an IP multimedia processing solutions provider, has announced the launch of GIPS VoiceEngine™ which will provide voice over IP (VoIP) for Apple Inc.’s iPhone with an aim to provide quick integration as well as ensure quality and real-time VoIP applications on the devices.

The software promises to help iPhone users to have the pleasure of enjoying their favorite iPhone games, applications and experience social networking sites.

On this launch, Emerick Woods, GIPS’ Chief Executive Officer commented, “With GIPS VoiceEngine Mobile, we are providing the capabilities that turn voice into IP packets so they can be transmitted via Wi-Fi, making it easier for applications developers to come to market quickly with integrated VoIP applications.”

GIPS has also come up with the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) iLBC codec standard, which optimizes calls made over the Internet.

The company claims that, GIPS’ voice engines allow users and businesses to have reasonable, high-quality, IP-based communications, even under adverse network conditions.
