TT Bureau |  |  12 Aug 2008

Sterlite Technologies Limited, a provider of wire and cable solutions for the telecom and power industry, said today that its Optical Fiber & Fiber Optic Cables facilities in India have been inspected and certified by the TL 9000 Quality Management System (QMS), developed to tap the quality requirements of the worldwide telecommunications industry.

Commenting on the accomplishment, KS Rao, COO (Telecom) - Sterlite Technologies Limited, said, “With the exponential increase in our global customer footprint, we believe that a consistent set of quality expectations is needed to drive efficiency and performance across the telecommunications supply chain. We believe this certification would provide Sterlite the unique opportunity to cater to specific needs of our existing global & Indian customers and help us further enhance our customer base.”

Sterlite says it is the first company in India and the sixth in the world to have got this certification for both Optical Fiber and Cables.
