Alcatel-Lucent’s search for a chief executive may have reached its terminal, as Reuters reported on Tuesday that Mike Quigley, former chief operating officer of the company, is due to be announced as the successor to Pat Russo.
Quigley, who was an early architect of the Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) merger, left his post a year ago citing health reasons.
The nomination committee, comprising of supervisory board members and headed by Daniel Bernard, former chairman of retailer Carrefour launched a global search for a new CEO earlier in the month, as the former heads Serge Tchuruk and Russo were both removed.
Alcatel-Lucent shares surged 5% Tuesday on word of Quigley’s possible appointment. |
