Ericsson, TANDBERG to unmask IPTV Business Solution 2.0 at IBC
TT Bureau |  |  04 Sep 2008

Ericsson and TANDBERG Television are primed to unleash the duo’s new IPTV Business Solution 2.0 at the upcoming IBC event to be held in Amsterdam, one of the biggest technology events for exhibiting latest technology and business ideas in broadcasting and media.

“This is an important IBC for Ericsson and TANDBERG Television as we demonstrate our vision for the future of television in a converged world – what we call the Individual Television Experience,” said Eric Cooney, President of TANDBERG Television.

The solution, described as being based on open standards, is particularly devised to help operators deliver truly converged and customized television experience. Business Solution 2.0 is fully integrated with IMS and claims to provide ‘highly scalable and reliable’ video on demand.

Concurrently, the two companies will also showcase the latest developments with its iPlex UltraCompression HD and SD IPTV video processing platform, which they say provides significant bandwidth improvements over previously deployed MPEG-4 AVC encoders, and includes third-generation transcoding already in deployment.
