Wireless services provider Virgin Mobile USA Inc. today nominated SK Telecom’s Richard Chin and Sungwon Suh to its board of directors.
The announcement comes against the backdrop of Virgin Mobile’s acquisition of Helio, a partly owned company of SK Telecom and, the South-Korean company’s recent investments in Virgin Mobile.
The newly named board director Chin serves as the president of SK Telecom Americas, a US subsidiary of SK Telecom. In his capacity, Chin leads the development of organic growth engine solutions as well as new business opportunities in and outside of the telecom industry.
Suh holds the position of Executive Vice President, Head of Global Strategy and Investment, where he is tasked with the job of overseeing SK Telecom''s overall globalization drive through partnerships and M&A activities.
Suh was also a board member of Helio and has served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning for Korea's SK Group, which holds interests in energy, telecommunications, trading and distribution. |
