Alcatel-Lucent today announced bagging a seven year contract to resort chain Club Med under which the former along with its global business partners will not only manage the company’s communications systems but also aim to create a differentiation through its solution for Club Med.
While the project is expected to be implemented in phases, the initial phase will involve Alcatel-Lucent to equip 30,000 lines at 87 sites including sales offices, resort hotels, and Club Med corporate headquarters in Paris with OmniPCX Enterprise IP Telephony and contact center solutions. Further to this, for Asia, the deal will require Alcatel-Lucent to deploy its DSL based solution to enable Club Med in offering value added guest services like in-room WiFi as well as advanced solutions like TV softphones, using television as a multi-media device.
“We were looking for a long-term partner, not just an immediate equipment provider,” said Michel Wolfovski, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Club Med. “We chose Alcatel-Lucent for its broad product line, industry expertise and global presence. We are confident that Alcatel-Lucent understands our objectives and will work with us to achieve our – vision to become the worldwide specialist of all-inclusive, upscale, friendly and multicultural vacations,” he added. |
