Sanyo to sell handset business to Kyocera

Sanyo Electric Co is reported to sell its mobile handset unit to Kyocera for about 50 billion yen i.e. 4455 million. Official announcement is expected soon and the acquisition will be completed by April 1.

 

According to Asahi, Sanyo will use the proceeds for its rechargeable and solar battery businesses.
