 Dell announced the launch of eight new blade, rack and tower servers now with 45nm Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors termed as PowerEdge servers, which promises to increase the Java performance by 49 percent as well as achieve highest VMmark scores for two- and four-socket servers, blades.
The product range offered by Dell now includes two- and four-socket Dell PowerEdge servers i.e. namely three blade servers (M905, M805, M605), four rack servers (R905, R805, 2970, SC1435) and one tower server (T605).
Dell says the new servers will improve bandwidth related performance by 12 percent, give increased performance while consuming the same amount of power as used previously and provides investment protection by offering Third generation PIN compatible for simple chip swap.
