Visa Mobile offers services on Android based handsets
TT Bureau |  |  16 Dec 2008

A consortium of 14 prominent merchants based in USA have come together to offer Visa Mobile services on Google’s Android. Services on offer include alerts, offers and location-based services.

JP Morgan Chase is serving as initial launch partner for Visa Mobile in USA in alliance with T-Mobile.

Alerts will provide notification to subscribers on every transaction made to their account. Offers will include informing the subscribers of discounts or vouchers on shopping while location-based services will provide information based on the subscriber location, for instance location of an ATM nearby.

1-800-Flowers.com, Bonefish Grill, Jos.A.Bank, Lenovo, Overstock.com, Planet Hollywood, and Shoes.com comprise some of the popular US-based merchants joining the Visa Mobile initiative.
