Sprint, Clearwire sued over patent infringement charges

Adaptix, which claims to be specializing in providing base stations for WiMAX network alleged that the Sprint Nextel-Clearwire that is about to expand the footprint for its WiMAX services across USA, infringed upon as many as 6 patents of it related to WiMAX technology.

 

In its petition, Adaptix demanded that it wants compensation for the damages, payment of legal fees as well as a injunction to stop the tie-up from further infringing on the patents.

 

Sprint and Clearwire are in the phase of launching WiMAX services across the USA at an investment of $14.5 billion.
