Cosmos Bank tie-up with PayMate for mobile payments

Pune-based Cosmos Bank has tied-up with mobile payment solutions company PayMate enabling the bank’s customers to pay for online mobile shopping, buying movie tickets and book airline tickers through an SMS.

The bank, with 79 branches across India and 80% of its customers having a mobile connection, expects the services to be used by most of its customers.

PayMate solution involves attaching customer cell number with bank account. To make a payment, customer has to type a PIN number, an instantly generated code, payment amount and send an SMS to PayMate.

PayMate claims to have over 100,000 customers across India and 2500 transactions registered everyday.
