Sony Ericsson quashes rumours of split
TT Bureau |  |  13 Feb 2009

Quashing the rumour mills’ latest hearsay, Sony Ericsson denied any rift between Sony and Ericsson and said they are not heading for the splitsville.

“The relationship between Sony and Ericsson is a strong as it ever has been, and neither plan to walk away,” said Senior Marketing Manager Richard Dorman.

The supposed fall out between the two made the rounds after a story suggested of Sony Ericsson having refused to use the PSP brand by parent company Sony.

Referring to the losses that Sony Ericsson recorded in the last year, Dorman said that two the companies- Sony and Ericsson were in losses before the partnership, but things worked well after they came together, with apparent optimism.

Further he said, “We had a tough time in 2008, a tough 12 months, but that doesn'''t mean the partnership will dissolve. As far as we're concerned, it's full steam ahead, and we'll look to the power of the partnership to turn things around.”
