Smartphone maker HTC pulled the wraps off its two newest additions to HTC Touch series; the HTC Touch Diamond2 and the HTC Touch Pro2, at the week’s GSMA World Mobile Congress 09.
The two smartphones represent the company’s first of its kind to implement new Push Internet Technology that enables speedy technology and rendering of Web pages on smartphones.
The HTC Touch Diamond2, the sequel of the HTC Touch Diamond, sports a thinner design and a larger 3.2-inch high-resolution widescreen VGA display with a gravity sensor. The phone also has a new touch-sensitive zoom bar that makes it easier and faster to zoom in on Web pages, e-mails, text messages, photos, and documents.
This offering, based on Windows Mobile 6.1 is believed to be having 50 percent better battery life and also includes a 5-megapixel camera, 512 MB ROM/288 MB RAM with expandable memory, and a 528MHz processor, said the company.
HTC Touch Pro2 on the other hand is a business-centric smartphone, with an incorporated Straight Talk technology, which claims to improve the speakerphone quality using asymmetric speakers and advanced noise suppression with full duplex acoustics.
Besides, the two phones share some common features like the new single-view contact integration, bringing a complete conversation history, including text, voice, or e-mail, onto a single contact card and can also be viewed on the in-call screen. Both the devices use HTC''s latest TouchFlo 3D interface that prioritizes information and brings more relevant information to the forefront.
While HTC Touch Diamond2 is expected to ship in Europe and Asia during Q2 of 2009, while it will reach the rest of the world including US later this year, the HTC Touch Pro2 is scheduled to be available worldwide this summer. |
