DoCoMo halts sales of BlackBerry Bold due to user complaints
TT Bureau |  |  02 Mar 2009

Leading Japanese operator, NTT DoCoMo announced halting of sales of Research in Motion’s (RIM) BlackBerry Bold handset model amidst numerous complaints of overheating by the users.

According to DoCoMo, 30 of the 40,000 BlackBerry Bold handsets sold in Japan have faced overheating issues.

RIM however says that the numbers are very minuscule and the problem is specific only to Japan. Though it committed to look into the issue, RIM ruled out that the handset had a battery problem.
