TT Bureau |  |  10 Mar 2009

India’s biggest software exporter by sales, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Tuesday snagged a multi-year IT solutions contract with German semiconductor maker Infineon Technologies. The deal is for overseeing the operations and maintenance of Infneon’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) activities.

The deal will involve TCS operating Infineon’s SCM Planning operations out of Munich, Germany and Bangalore, India.

Infineon CVP IT & CIO, Michael Schmelmersaid, “By focusing on cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction, TCS brings to the table a very compelling delivery model which meets Infineon objectives and provided an excellent opportunity for being a long term strategic partner for IFX,” in an explanation towards selecting TCS for the project.

Carol Wilson, VP and Global Head, HiTech Industry Solutions Unit, TCS said, “Our HiTech Industry Solution Unit offers enhanced domain expertise and greater customer centricity to clients from the High Tech industry globally. TCS is strongly building on its footprint in Germany, and we are convinced that we will be able to help Infineon optimize their operations and achieve their corporate objectives.”
