Alcatel-Lucent expects to tide over the current financial slowdown and return back to recording profit by second half of next year i.e. 2010.

"Regarding net income, we expect to return to profits during 2010, most likely in the second-half of the year," said Paul Tufano, CFO Alcatel-Lucent to French Daily, Les Echos.

As per earlier announcement, the company is aiming for break-even this year.
