Newly appointed Qualcomm Chairman, Paul Jacobs announced taking a 25 percent salary cut for the fiscal year 2009 in an effort to show solidarity with the rest of his employees.

Qualcomm President, Steve Altman is also set to take such a salary reduction.

Qualcomm follows Motorola which too witnessed its top notch executives taking significant salary cuts to set an example among subordinates.
