Telstra calls off $32 mn software contract with Satyam
TT Bureau |  |  18 Mar 2009

Melbourne-based Telstra Corporation Ltd. is believed to have nullified its software support contract with Satyam Computer Services Ltd.

Earlier last week, Satyam’s new chief executive, AS Murty, had gone to Australia in a final move to hold back the contract, which valued $32 million (around Rs 160 crore) a year, and constituted for about 35 percent of Satyam’s revenue from Australia.

The contract has now been reportedly given to Electronic Data Systems Corp., a part of IT giant Hewlett-Packard.

The tormented company, Satyam has witnessed a discontinuation of around six to seven contracts since the news of faking of accounts by the company’s former chairman, Ramalinga Raju, made the rounds.
