Airtel not keen on bringing in more foreign investment
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  27 Mar 2009

Bharti Airtel Chairman, Sunil Mittal said that the company is not looking at raising fresh funds through foreign investors. Earlier this year, the government relaxed norms for foreign investment across all sectors making them eligible to have more than 74 percent stake as is the limit currently.

"There is headroom, but we have no plans to raise money," said Sunil Mittal.

Bharti’s latest announcement means that its major investor Singtel will have to wait for some more time if it wants to increase its stake.
