Yahoo Mobile goes live in 8 countries including India

Yahoo today announced the launch of its new Yahoo Mobile targeted towards the mobile subscribers as well as those hooked on to internet. The portal supports 300 devices with HTML browsing capabilities.

 

The application can be accessed by visiting http://in.new.m.yahoo.com. The application is also available for iPhone users and is made available at Apple iPhone App Store.

 

The service is available in 8 countries namely the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, France, India, Indonesia and the Philippines.

 

“Consumers around the globe are demanding compelling mobile Internet services that offer increased personalization,” said David Ko, senior vice president, Yahoo! Mobile. “To further capitalize on the market potential and continue our mobile leadership, we created Yahoo! Mobile, a dynamic starting point enabling consumers to discover the world around them, stay connected through a variety of communication services, and customize content to define their Internet experience on mobile devices.”

 

The portal banks upon mobile advertising for revenue generation and aims to provide rich media ads and help advertisers reach the targeted audience.
