The investigating agency, CBI is reportedly considering filing cases against some foreign companies offerings their services in India over alleged revenue loss to the government. The names under consideration include AT&T, BT, MCI Worldcom and Equant.

A preliminary investigation by CBI, alleges that the government may have suffered losses due to failure of these companies to pay one time entry fee of Rs 25 crore in addition to 15 percent of AGR as annual renewal. In January 2006, the DoT had revised this fee to one-time entry fee of Rs 2.5 crore and 6 percent of AGR for renewal.
