COAI to challenge dual technology norm in SC
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  15 Apr 2009

The lobby representing the incumbent GSM operators, COAI has decided to challenge the recent ruling by TDSAT allowing operators to offer mobile services in both GSM as well as CDMA platform with the same licence.

Government had earlier allowed the norm making it possible for operators like Tata Teleservices and reliance Communications to offer GSM as well as CDMA based mobile services. The operators were granted start-up spectrum as well. RCom has already launches its GSM-based mobile services.

COAI had challenged the norm in TDSAT. But TDSAT too ruled out in favour of the permission to allow dual technology.
