UTV Network taps BT to distribute UTV movie channel

The broadcasting arm of British Telecom, Global Media Network (GMN) is tapped to distribute UTV''s movie channel in the US.

 

An especially tailored feed of UTV Movies has been created for the US market and is being forked out via BT's network, BT said in a statement.

 

While commenting on the tie up, Shantonu Aditya, Executive Director, UTV Global Broadcasting Ltd said “For today’s broadcasters the big business opportunity is to leverage the best means to take advantage of globalization.”

 

UTV offers five channels in India including, Bindass, Bindass Movies, World Movies, UTV Movies and UTVi.

 

Similar contracts were earlier signed with NDTV for distributing its business and lifestyle channels - NDTV Profit and NDTV Good Times.
