TT Bureau |  |  06 May 2009

Communications Minister A Raja is under rough weather again since as per a report from The Pioneer, A close confidant of the Minister is directly or indirectly in fray to bag five licences out of total six licences to be granted by state-owned operator, BSNL for WiMAX services.

The Pioneer reports that a person named Sanjay Kapoor ( the alleged confidant of the Minister) and his relatives own the five firms WiExpert Communications, SV Telecom Systems, Digitelco Communications, Spectrus Communications and Technotial Infoways.

The Pioneer goes on to add that the registered offices of these firms had no display of the firm''s names at he addresses. The mentioned firms were incorporated on November 5, 2007.

The report says that one of the Director's of the company is shown to be Vijay Pal who is as per the report, the driver of Sanjay Kapoor.

The report however fails to comprehensively prove whether Sanjay Kapoor is a confidant of the Minister.
