TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  11 May 2009

Bharti Airtel''s Deputy CEO, Sanjay Kapoor revealed that the company has registered revenues totaling more than those reached by Saregama, India's largest music record company.

Saregama had registered revenues of Rs 150 crore for the fiscal ended March 31, 2008.

Bharti offers hello tunes, call-back tunes and music on demand as part of its music content offerings.

The revelation highlights the growing consumer preference for music content over the mobile medium. Collectively, mobile operators are estimated to have more revenues than music record companies.
