The industry gave a thumping welcome to the fact that the country will finally have a stable coalition as the stock exchanges hit the upper circuit twice. Telecom sector too had its share with listed telcos witnessing a very strong surge in their respective share prices.
Reliance Communications (RCom) witnessed the highest surge at 22.74 % in the BSE with the price reaching as much as Rs 306 before closing at Rs 285. In NSE the company performed even better with 24.67 % growth and price at Rs. 289.85.
Fierce competitor Bharti Airtel too performed very strongly with 22.53 % rise in stock prices at Rs 980 in BSE and 25.42 % rise in NSE at Rs 1003.2.
Idea Cellular, MTNL and TTML also witnessed rise of more than 10 % in their stock prices.
