TCIL stake sale to Bharti Hexacom among five issues on top of agenda for new govt
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  22 May 2009

The DoT has identified five issues as top priorities for the new government to address. While the issues include some expected concerns such as finalizing policy guidelines on 3G and BWA spectrum auctioning, the DoT also wants the government to address the issue of stake sale by Telecommunications Consultants of India Ltd. (TCIL) to Bharti Hexacom in Rajasthan.

The issue has been hanging for three years now with the main concern being that the government should get good valuation for its stake in the JV.

The DoT also wants an interception and monitoring system to be set-up with a investment of Rs 450 crore.

Further to this revival of Tamil Nadu Telecommunications Ltd. is also put on the agenda for the new government.

Provision of equal pensionary benefits to the absorbed employees of MTNL as available to employees of BSNL will also be putt up for resolution.
