Toronto-based Nortel said that it will offer a Lifetime Warranty on its Ethernet Routing Switch (ERS) portfolios.

“This places Nortel in the best-in-class position for lifecycle support. Our Lifetime Warranty is the most comprehensive, the most future-looking available and is focused squarely on delivering customer benefit,” said Joel Hackney, president, Nortel Enterprise Solutions.

The new warranty will extend to Nortel’s ERS 2500 series, the ERS 4500 series, and Nortel’s ERS 5000 line, which includes the recently-launched ERS 5600 products.

As a part of the warranty, the company will offer innovative lifecycle support elements, including iron-clad service support during the critical employment phase and clearness into the product development process to devise software updates to precise requirements.

In addition, the warranty will also include Lifetime Technical Support, Advanced Technical Support Lifetime Next Business Day replacement for hardware in North America and Optional software subscription updates.
