AdMob ropes in Google’s Narayanan as Country Manager for India

Mobile advertising player, AdMob today announced the appointment of Mahesh Narayanan as the company’s new Country Manager for India operations. Mahesh till recently was employed with Google as Founding member of Direct Sales Operations.

Mahesh’s past associations include organizations such as Times Now, Mediaturf Worldwide, and Bidorbuyindia.com.

“I am excited to join AdMob and play an important role in the company’s growth in the rapidly expanding mobile advertising industry in India. India is an important market for us and we are looking at growing our business presence and relationships in the region” said Mahesh Narayanan.

“AdMob is pleased to bring Mahesh onboard to grow our strong market position in India,” said Jeff Merkel, Managing Director of APLA. “Mahesh brings deep marketing knowledge valuable to expanding AdMob’s lead in India’s growing mobile advertising market. India is the second largest mobile market in the world and already AdMob’s third largest market.”

AdMob claims to have a network comprising of more than 7,000 mobile web sites, 2,000 applications, and hundreds of brand and performance advertisers.
