Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson said Friday that it has been contracted by three Chinese telecom operators to render fixed-line broadband access.
The three operators- China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, which are currently stepping up their networks in several provinces including Guangdong, Shanghai and Sichuan, will receive fiber-to-the-home, or FTTH, networks from the equipment maker.
Additionally, it will also provide a range of services, including competence development, network design and consultancy.
With this roll out, millions of people of the initial nine Chinese provinces will be able to enjoy high-definition TV, as well as high-speed broadband and quality voice services, said a statement released by the companies.
However, the value of the deal remains undisclosed. |
