The presentation of Union Budget 2009-10 by the country’s new Finance minister, Pranab Mukherjee highlight some interesting aspects of the financial state of the state-owned PSUs in the telecom field.
For BSNL which mainly finds itself engulfed in major controversies rather than find mention for new business initiatives, the financial resources appear to be dwindling as per the statistics provided by the Finance Ministry.
While the company had last year financial resources of Rs 17,891 crore, the figure scaled down to Rs 14,015 crore this year. The company’s internal resources amount to Rs 7,106 crore as compared to Rs 8,722 crore last year. Resources from bonds and debentures are now Rs 6,909 crore as compared to Rs 9,169 crore last year.
Comparatively, C-DOT’s resources which come from internal resources stand at Rs 45 core as compared to Rs29.95 crore last year.
MTNL posted handsome increase of Rs 1,725.02 crore from its internal resources as compared to Rs 1,304.28 crore last year. |
