Sun Microsystems pink slips another 61 workers
TT Bureau |  |  07 Jul 2009

California-based Sun Microsystems in a filing to Texas Workforce Commission said that it has sacked 61 employees across Dallas, Austin, Houston and San Antonio as a part of a larger restructuring program.

However, the company did not disclose on the positions and the salary range of the staffs fired.

The dismissal is in line with the worldwide cut, announced by the company earlier in November, stating that it will lay off 6,000 of its 33,000 workforce as part of a push to save $800 million annually.

Sun Microsystems stands to be acquired by software major Oracle Corp.
