Cable industry remains skeptical of IPTV foray
TT Correspondent |  Mumbai |  09 Feb 2008

I&B Minsitry’s green signal for cable broadcasters to offer IPTV services has hardly been able to excite the cable industry as the players feel that there are still lot of issues pertaining to bandwidth and other complication which need to be addressed and the approval remains only on paper.

Observers say that IPTV services require increased bandwidth which will require network upgradation to be undertaken by the cable broadcasters. Also the cable players will have to design a appropriate pricing mechanism to attract subscribers to such services.
